Clark County 4-H Dog Project

Who can be a part of the project?

Youth must be Grade 3 and up in order to show in the Clark County Fair Dog Project

Does it Cost anything?

Yes- There will be a $20.00 training fee per 4-H/FFA family

Dog Vaccination Requirements (Proof will be REQUIRED):

All health papers and training fees must be submitted to the Extension Office or to Seth/Courtney before the first meeting!

  • Rabies
  • DHLPP
  • Bordetella (Kennel Cough)
  • Deworming is highly recommended

Where, When, How often do you meet?

There will be a schedule of training dates hosted in Clark County participants are encouraged to attend all but are required to attend Six (6) classes to qualify to show at the Clark County Fair.

Training Cancellations: Training sessions are held rain or shine. Please dress appropriately for weather conditions. If a cancellation is necessary for any reason, an email, text message and Facebook post will be sent to all project members.

What to bring to class:

  • Six (6) foot training lead for obedience and agility
  • Showmanship lead
  • Training Collar for obedience, Flat collar for agility
  • Poo Poo bags (please be kind and clean up after your dog!)
  • Treats! (it is helpful to bring a vest/sweatshirt or treat bag with easy access)
    • Treats should be soft and easy to chew for dogs (please no hard kibble)
  • CLOSED TOE SHOES are required. (NO flip flops, sandals, heels or barefoot will be allowed)
  • PARENTS MUST BE PRESENT FOR DURATION OF TRAINING SESSIONS!
